EMMANUEL UCC -- IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR FRIENDS IN KENYA
In January 2007 our mission efforts to raise school fees and send 10 secondary students to school was met with success as all ten girls have been admitted to school and have all their fees paid for the 2007 school year. In January 2008 our mission efforts to raise school fees and send 17 secondary students to school was met with success as all seventeen girls have been admitted to school and have all their fees paid for the 2008 school year. In 2009 to 2021 our mission efforts to raise school fees to send 21 secondary students to school was met with success. In addition, in 2018 we held a fund-raising concert to help pay for a school bus for Mercy Homes to gather the younger children to join the new grade school at Mercy Homes.
The Emmanuel UCC Kenya Fund provides the educational fees for each of the secondary students of Mercy Home Orphanage in Luanda, Kenya as they advance to grades nine through twelve.
Free public education in Kenya ends after 8th grade. Without the support of family members to pay their fees, the high school children of Mercy Home are not likely to be able to pay for the completion of their education. That's where the Emmanuel UCC Kenya Fund comes in. Our mission is to raise educational funds so that these orphans can remain in school.
Our goal in 2024 will be to send 25 of Mercy Home's secondarians to school. If you can help us reach this goal, please contact us or send a check payable to the Emmanuel UCC with a memo of Kenya Fund.
